June Lab Meeting
Greenlight Nature Lab’s June Meeting is digging deeper this month with a homework assignment and an invitation to powerful conversation. Previous lab meetings have focused on how we speak about conservation, our relationships to science and each other, and understanding our own personal experiences in this political, cultural, and environmental moment. Now I’d like to resource us a bit with some ongoing conversation around the same topics.
The Global Diversity Foundation works in collaboration with grassroots and civil society organisations in the Global South on the topics of biodiversity, livelihoods, and territorial governance. They have curated a space named “Conservation Futures Dialogues” to foster difficult conversations among individuals holding diverse positions, perspectives, and approaches to conservation. From these dialouges Dr. Carolyn Finney and Aksha Chettri wrote an essay entitled “Reimagining Conservation: Disruption, Relationship & Dreaming our Futures” in 2025. You can find it here. We’re talking about it.
May Lab Meeting
It’s a REDO! We’re revising last meetings conversation! You didn’t miss out, please join us again!
April May Lab Meeting: Emerging, Growing, Shape-Shifting
This month's Greenlight Nature Lab meeting explores the theme of spring emergence — not just what is growing in your work, but how you are growing as a practitioner. In the current cultural and political climate, doing this intersectional work well increasingly requires us to show up with genuine presence and build trust through real relationship — not just credentials and expertise.
We'll explore:
Spring Emergence: Where is new growth showing up in your work — even if it feels fragile?
Shape-Shifting as Practice: How are you adapting to your environment, and what is that demanding of you?
Authentic Presence Over Expertise: How are you building trust in this moment — and what does showing up as yourself actually look like in practice?
Open Challenge Round: Bring a real barrier or question and let us think alongside you.
The Greenlight Nature Lab is a monthly gathering for practitioners who believe that bringing climate action to the sidewalk starts with understanding ourselves and each other. Come ready to share, listen, and grow.
April Lab Meeting
April Lab Meeting: Emerging, Growing, Shape-Shifting
Spring doesn't ease into itself — it pushes through. And if you work at the intersection of science, people, and nature, you may be feeling exactly that right now: a pull toward new growth even as the ground beneath you is still uncertain.
We'll also be making space for the hard stuff. Bring a challenge you're facing in your work, and let the collective wisdom of the group meet you there.
March Lab Meeting
There’s a quiet pressure in our fields to always be building, expanding, producing.
But nature doesn’t work that way.
This month at Greenlight Nature Lab’s Lab Meeting, we’re exploring Seasonality & Accepting Limits — how to recognize the season you’re in (personally and professionally), and how to lead from there instead of pushing against it.
If you’re navigating shifting capacity, evolving priorities, or a season that looks different than you expected, you’re not alone.
Join us.
February Lab Meeting
Greenlight Nature Lab is a monthly gathering for practitioners working at the intersection of science, nature, and people. Our lab meetings are designed to be in reach—grounded, supportive, and practical—offering space to connect, reflect, and problem-solve together.
This month’s focus is managing disruptions and detours.
We all make plans, and we all experience moments when those plans are interrupted by life. During this session, we’ll explore questions like:
How do we stay encouraged when our work or lives don’t unfold as expected?
How do we regain momentum without burning out?
How can community and partnership help us navigate uncertainty and change?
Participants are invited to bring real challenges, reflections, or simply a willingness to listen and support others.
This is a space for shared learning, mutual support, and collective wisdom.
January Lab Meeting
January Lab Meeting at Greenlight Nature Lab for People and Places. New Year and New Growth: Exploring what’s changing below the surface during periods of dormancy.
December Lab Meeting
Join Our Monthly Lab Meeting!
Connect, reflect, and be inspired.
Our monthly lab meeting is an open, informal space for anyone working at the intersection of science, nature, and people. Come meet others in the community, share experiences, and learn from the diverse perspectives in the room.
This month, we’ll continue welcoming new faces—and we’ll also explore a guiding question together: What are you most grateful for in your work right now?
It’s an opportunity to pause, reflect, and celebrate the parts of our work that sustain us.
We’ll also set aside time for collective thoughts and observations on COP30, the 2025 United Nations Climate Change Conference.
Whether you’d like to share, listen, or simply soak up inspiration, you are warmly welcome. Join us by RSVP’ing below!
Lab Meeting
Are you a practitioner working at the intersection of science, nature, and people? Come join our lab meeting, an informal space to connect with individuals working on similar projects. At Greenlight Nature Lab we are fostering a space for “messy data”— looking at the real life examples of projects based in nature but focused on people. Let’s learn and innovate together. First Monday each month. RSVP below for meeting link!
